Why ‘Basalt’?
Basalt is a strong volcanic rock created by energy from the earth’s power. The name Basalt suggests strength and timelessness. The Citroën Basalt is ambitious and aspirational, with a design that embodies modernity, resilience, and reassurance. The Basalt seeks to satisfy several customer expectations and provide a joyful driving experience.
Citroen Basalt Exterior Design:
The Citroën Basalt will be the first model in its category to borrow traits from different automotive codes. The Basalt will include additional features compared to Citroen’s previous cars, like the C3 Aircross SUV and the C3. It has a high ground clearance to increase space and make it easier to get in and out of the car.
Citroen’s aim is to make cars that imbue a strong character and provide the utmost comfort. Bold colour and design choices mark the Citroën Basalt. It has a bold design, accentuated by its prominent bonnet, square wheel arches, and dynamic stance. Its all-black alloy wheels, sporty LED headlamps, faux skid plates, and sharp roofline give it a stylish and sporty look. Its sharp, receding roofline gives it a dynamic and sporty coupé-like look.
The design is said to combine the dynamic nature of a coupé with the space and balance of a 5-door saloon and the robust and sturdy nature of an SUV. As stated, the Basalt has a balanced silhouette with spacious interiors for optimum comfort. Its high bonnet, widened wings, an upright front, coupé-like rear, geometric wheel arches, and high ground clearance lend it an SUV-like suspension and a strong road presence.
The front fascia is similar to the C3 Aircross, with a faux silver skid plate, a two-part grille, LED DRLs, and the Chevron Citroën logo. The Basalt gets projector headlamps as opposed to the bulbs of the C3 Aircross.
Citroën Basalt Interior Design:
The Basalt comes equipped with automatic climate control with rear seat vents, a 7-inch driver’s display, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen display, and electric ORVMs. The seats are covered with luxurious leather upholstery, with 3-step thigh support and adjustable headrests.
