Introducing The All-New Bentley Continental GT:
The launch of the Continental catapulted Bentley from a small-time automobile manufacturer to a globally-known brand. The carmaker recently unveiled the new Continental GT Sport and Continental GTC, of which only the GT Sport is currently offered in India.
The Bentley Continental GT is a two-door, four-seater grand tourer with a coupe body type. It is available in 7 standard colour options and more than 80 more shades, including the extended range and Mulliner paints.
A Reimagined Exterior:
At first glance, you can immediately tell that it’s a Continental, as the overall shape and design language remain the same. Look again, however, and you’ll notice the new model has some very sharp yet subtle changes to the exterior.
The new Bentley Continental GT gets a revised front fascia, with single front headlamps instead of dual ones, and sports a horizontal deep crystal cut DRL that cuts through the lamps, which Bentley dubs the ‘eyebrow’. The headlights and front grille feature an intricate diamond pattern, while the taillamps get smoke-effect lenses.
The car now has better weight distribution as its front wheels were shifted forward, and the engine is now lower to the ground and further back. The redesigned Continental is 80 kg lighter than its predecessor.

Luxurious Interiors:
A wraparound dashboard and plush upholstery, coupled with the coupe’s high door sills, make the cabin feel cozy and inviting. The Bentley Continental GT Sport gets quilted 3D leather hide panels on the front doors. The upholstery is premium Dinamica, a microfiber synthetic suede-like material that is durable and easy to clean.
The carpet, hide, stitching, and piping styles and colours are completely customizable. There are eleven colors available for your secondary hide in addition to the fifteen primary hide colors.
The extensive selection of veneers from Bentley includes open-pore woods with a matte finish, hand-finished high-gloss woods that can be enhanced with metal inlays, and technical finishes like carbon fiber or Dark Tint Diamond Brushed Aluminum. Or choose from three new ‘piano’ gloss-painted colors—Independence Blue, Burnt Oak, and Cricket Ball—or the more subdued Piano Black.
The cabin is well protected from road noise; its capable sound isolation and air suspension keep you comfortable through long hours of high-speed highway cruising.
Tech and Creature Comforts:
The Bentley Continental GT is a grand tourer, so it is built to be comfortable on long journeys. The cabin retains a vintage look, but the updated technology makes you feel right at home in the 21st century. You get a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and AppleCarPlay connectivity, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable seats, USB-C charging points, WiFi, and a 16-channel Bang and Olufsen surround sound system.
You can also pay some more to get the optional Bentley Rotating Display, which allows you to customise the instrument console. You get to choose between a central touchscreen and an old-fashioned analogue display with three dials.
Safety Features:
Top View Camera, pedestrian warnings, traffic sign recognition, auto-dimming mirrors, alert systems for use when reversing, and a hands-free boot opening are just a few of the driving assistance features included in the City Specification pack.
The Bentley Continental GT also gets Adaptive Cruise Control, a night vision camera, park assist, and lane detection. The head-up display keeps important driving information in your line of vision at all times. An interesting new feature is the ‘environmental awareness’ display that renders the vehicles surrounding you on the screen in real time.
Engine Specifications:
Bentley is letting go of the iconic W12 engines that have been a part of the Continental since 2010. Now, the all-new Continental gets an ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid’ powertrain, a first for Bentley.
The new Bentley Continental GT gets a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with an electric motor, generating 771 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque. Claimed to reach top speeds of 335 kmph, the GT can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds.
This new V8 engine produces more power and torque than the discontinued W12, and it also reduces kerb weight. The new Continental is the sportiest GT yet, thanks to four-wheel steering, an upgraded electronic limited-slip differential, and a significantly higher rear torque bias for the AWD system.
