The Confederate Hellcat X132 is one of the most exclusive bikes in the world, as only 150 units of it were hand-built by artisans in the United States. The stunning motorcycle employs aircraft-grade titanium and carbon-fibre fenders, which makes it lighter, while its raw power makes it extremely fun to ride.
Mahi was spotted riding this gorgeous machine in 2018, leaving both fans and bike lovers awestruck. MS Dhoni is the only owner of the Confederate Hellcat X132 in Southeast Asia. Since Confederate Motors has now rebranded as Combat Motors, all the Confederates in the world are now extremely sought-after collectibles.

BMW R71
The BMW R71 is one of the lesser-known motorcycles in the MS Dhoni bike collection. In 2023, cricketer and T20 captain Hardik Pandya posted a picture of him seated on the bike, with Dhoni sitting in the sidecar, with the caption, ‘Sholay 2 coming soon 😉’
This motorcycle was only available for purchase for a year after its debut in Germany in 1938. In Bonham’s auction in 2020, a 1939 BMW Motorcycle R71 was estimated to be priced at USD 24 474–31 148 (INR 20,42,879–25,99,967).
BSA Gold Star
The BSA Gold Star was widely believed to be one of the fastest bikes in the 1950s. Each Gold Star was hand-built and delivered with documented dynamometer test results so that owners could confirm the exact horsepower that their bike produced.
The Ranchi Traffic cops fined Dhoni on one of his rides on the Gold Star. His bike had the numberplate attached to the front mudguard in such a way that it wasn’t clearly visible from the front.
Yamaha RD350
The Yamaha Rajdoot, also known as the Yamaha RD350, was the cricketer’s first bike that he bought when he was 18. It is also one of his favorites and the MS Dhoni bike collection includes many customized ones as well.
In an interview with Outlook Sports, Dhoni fondly remembers that he loved the sound of the Yamaha RD350. He wanted one of his own at the young age of 13 or 14.
In 2010, the cricketer visited the police station at Lalbazar, Kolkata. The event attracted a lot of media attention and speculation. It was later revealed that Dhoni had heard that an old model of the Yamaha RD350 was kept on the premises. The cricketer also rode the bike, but it is unclear if he bought it. (source: The Hindu)
Norton Jubilee 250
The Norton Jubilee was built to celebrate Norton’s Diamond Jubilee. It was in production from 1958 to 1966. This Jubilee 250 was customized for him by one of his friends.
Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is an extremely famous cruiser. Dhoni owns a previous-generation Fat Boy and has been spotted riding it multiple times. Many Bollywood celebrities, such as Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Shahid Kapoor, also own Harley-Davidson bikes.
Suzuki Shogun
Not all bikes in the MS Dhoni bike collection come at a premium price tag. Instead, many of Captain Cool’s bikes are iconic and beloved motorcycles that are popular among avid motocyclists for one reason or another.
The cricketer is clearly fond of old bikes. He shared a picture of his Shogun on Instagram, stating, ‘How many of you agree that this was one of the most exciting 2-stroke single cylinder bikes to ride?’ Before it was discontinued, the Shogun retailed at INR 18,000.
Yamaha Thundercat
The Yamaha YZF600R, or the Yamaha Thundercat as it is better known, is one of the most well-known bikes in the MS Dhoni bike collection. The bike generated only around 100 bhp of power but was extremely popular as one of the most comfortable sports tourer bikes. It was in production from 1996 to 2007.
Dhoni bought the bike in the 2010s and would ride it quite frequently. Although it was subsequently discontinued, the Thundercat is still very valuable in the used bike market.
Gems of the Present
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R
The Ninja ZX-14R was the most expensive Kawasaki production motorcycle available in India until the arrival of the H2. The ZX-14R gets a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 197 bhp and 162.5 Nm of power and torque.
During the India tour of Zimbabwe, Dhoni decided to borrow a bike from one of the cops there and ride it around the playing field. The bike is a Concours 14 ABS, a cruiser sports bike that is basically a sports tourer version of the Ninja ZX-14R. It costs about INR 10.50 lakh.
Kawasaki Ninja H2
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 is part of Kawasaki’s hypersport range. One of the most popular bikes in the MS Dhoni bike collection, it features a 998cc 4-cylinder supercharged engine that produces 242 BHP. It has a claimed top speed of 295 km/h.
MS Dhoni was the first Indian owner of this exotic superbike and bought it for INR 29 lakhs. It now retails for an estimated INR 36.2 lakh.
TVS Apache RR 310
The TVS Apache 310, also called the TVS Apache RR310, was born out of a TVS Motors partnership with BMW Motorrad. As the brand ambassador of TVS, Dhoni received this bike merely a week after its launch.
The TVS 310 stands out in the MS Dhoni bike collection as it is a perfect blend of looks and performance. The BMW RR310 is often compared to the TVS RR310, as the former shares the same body and has fewer features but a better finish.
TVS Apache RTR 300 FX
TVS gifted this bike to long-time brand ambassador Dhoni. This custom-built motorcycle, used by the TVS rally team, is based on the Apache RTR platform. Dhoni has never been spotted riding it, but that’s alright as it isn’t actually road-legal. You’d have to ride it on an adventure trail or an off-road track.
Hero Karizma ZMR
The Hero Karizma ZMR is a stunning sports-bike that has been immensely popular due to its great performance, speed, and looks. Dhoni won this bike as a prize after receiving the ‘Man of the Series’ title in an ODI cricket series. It gets a 223-cc engine and 6-speed transmission for sporty power and fuel efficiency.
Jawa 42 Bobber
This cruiser bike got some custom specifications before it became a part of the MS Dhoni bike collection. It had a custom bottle-green body with gold pinstripes.
The bike was a gift from Skipper Pipes, for whom Dhoni is a brand ambassador.
TVS Ronin
The TVS Ronin is the cricketer’s second TVS motorcycle. He bought this bike in its top-spec Mid variant, which is priced at INR 1,68,750 to 1,71,000.
Suzuki Hayabusa
The Suzuki Hayabusa has been one of the most iconic Japanese motorcycles in recent times. The Busa is a must-have in every bike collection, so we’re not surprised that its part of the MS Dhoni bike collection as well.
Ducati 1098
MS Dhoni owns a customized Ducati 1098 tricolore. This bike was available from 2007–2008, making it one of the many limited-run motorcycles in the MS Dhoni bike collection. The bike features a powerful twin-cylinder engine with 160 bhp.
Dhoni is reported to have paid around INR 20–30 lakh for his Ducati 1098.
The MS Dhoni Bike Collection: For the Love of Riding
Dhoni’s life journey has been filled with memories and mentions of both cars and bikes. He would ride his friend Robin’s Bajaj Pulsar on occasion, as well as Satya Prakash’s Yamaha RX135. He is rumoured to have driven a Gen 1 Honda CBZ before being selected for the national team.
Since Mahi is a very private person, we do not have access to his complete collection, which comprises over 100 bikes. The entirety of his collection stays behind locked doors in his two-story garage at Ranchi.
