Introducing The Land Rover Defender Octa: A New Off-Road Contender:
Big, beefy SUVs are great for their off-road capabilities and ability to withstand any type of terrain (yes, even the bumpiest Indian roads). But the bigger the car, the harder it is to really enjoy driving it. Big cars are heavy and bulky, and they don’t go fast—or they didn’t until Land Rover introduced the Defender Octa.
We all know what the Defender can take. But the new Land Rover Defender Octa is redefining what it means to be a Defender. Want to buy this new Defender car? Keep reading to learn more and to know how, where, when, and how much the Octa costs!
A Redesigned, Sturdier-Than-Ever Exterior:
Land Rover Defender Octa:
The Land Rover Defender Octa is based on the body of the Defender 110. Its silhouette remains the same but with altered dimensions; the Defender Octa is 28mm taller, 68mm wider, and has extended wheel arches to house the now-bigger tires. The bumpers get a redesign to improve the car’s approach and departure angles; the redesigned grille now offers better airflow; and the rear bumper now incorporates a quad-exit active exhaust set-up.
The Octa features a diamond-shaped Octa badge on the C-pillar, a Narvick black tailgate and roof, as well as retractable side steps and 22-inch all-season tires. The all-LED headlights and taillights and the aluminium alloy underbody protection remain the same as the regular Defender.

Safety Features:
The Land Rover Defender Octa is rugged and adventure-ready. The proof? The car underwent 13,960 rigorous tests in challenging locations and tough weather conditions. The Octa’s new performance seats keep you seated firmly even during spells of animated driving. The car gets special front and rear recovery points, which you can utilize to escape challenging situations. The water wading capacity has been increased to 1 metre.
You also get Clear-Sight Ground View, off-road launch control, off-road ABS, switchable traction control, and Terrain Response Modes such as Sand, Mud and Ruts, Grass Gravel Snow and Rock Crawl. The Octa is likely to get Electronic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Braking Control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, multiple airbags, and an ADAS suite.

Engine Specifications:
With a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid engine, the Defender Octa is the most powerful Defender ever, generating a whopping 626 bhp and 800Nm max torque. This powertrain replaces the Defender’s old 5.0-liter supercharged petrol unit.
The Octa, for the first time ever, gets hydraulically interlinked 6D Dynamics semi-active suspension, which is available in the higher-end Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. You get 400mm front brakes with high-performance Brembo calipers for enhanced control.
The Octa can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4 seconds. This kind of speed is rarely seen in off-roaders as most sacrifice speed over durability. The Defender Octa gets 3 driving modes: the road-focused Dynamic mode, Comfort, plus the new ‘Octa’ mode, which offers an Off-Road Launch mode for maximum acceleration on loose surfaces.
